The use of color in interiors can be a tricky endeavor. Colors have a fundamental effect on our perception of space and influence our moods.

When done well they can upgrade a space dramatically. Here are two examples (non retail) on how clever design transforms an interior space to a memorable experience.

The first one is a car park in Sidney, Australia which was transformed to a vivid space by designers Craig & Karl (www.craigandkarl.com). This is a great example how color can change the entire perception of a space.

The second example I came across is the Japanese based Technical Chef School in Utsunomiya, Japan by  Emmanuelle Moureaux Architecture + Design where color blocking is used to stimulate the five senses in key areas of the school. While the architecture is expectedly austere the color energizes it up and creates emotional spaces students can connect with.
